SureScan Corporation x1000 Awarded Best Explosives, Narcotics, Contraband Detection Solution by Government Security News

ENDICOTT, NY – July 22, 2015 – SureScan Corporation, an emerging leader bringing advanced technology and manufacturing to the homeland security marketplace, today announced that its x1000 Multi-Energy Stationary Gantry Computed Tomography Explosive Detection System (CT EDS) is the winner of a 2015 Airport, Seaport, Border Security award from Government Security News.  The SureScan x1000 was recognized as the winner of the Best Explosives, Narcotics, and Contraband Detection solutions category.

According to GSN, the awards program "demonstrates the spectacular scientific achievements and dedication to homeland security that are shared by the public-private partnership of vendor companies and federal, state and local government agencies."

“Best Explosives, Narcotics, Contraband Detection” is always one of the most hotly contested categories in GSN’s annual Airport, Seaport, Border Security Awards,” said Government Security News CEO Adrian Courtenay.  “Congratulations to winner SureScan Corporation and its x1000 solution, representing a next generation solution of CT EDS design and “future proof” detection technology.”

LeeAnn Levesque, President and CEO of SureScan said, “The SureScan x1000 is the perfect combination of next-generation technology and advanced engineering for a solution that is “future proof” with algorithm and belt speed upgrades, and operation at an overall lower cost of ownership.  This accolade from Government Security News adds to the global recognition we are receiving for the x1000 solution.”

The x1000 is the most unique, high performing and economical solution in the market today. Its innovative use of proven CT technology enhanced with the implementation of multi-energy detection for atomic number analysis enables the x1000 to provide low false alarm rates, and the highest level of accuracy of current and emerging threat detection.

The system architecture creates key advantages over medically adapted solutions, such as a stationary gantry with no moving parts enabling customers to experience far lower maintenance and part replacement costs resulting in a much lower cost of ownership. In addition, x1000 operating benefits include:

•    A large rectangular tunnel throughout for jam-free, faster throughput
•    Greatly reduced power consumption
•    Operational efficiencies such as cooling and zero impact self-calibration
•    Future poof upgrades for increased belt speeds and threat detection
